SAGE GEOSYSTEMS
The first and only GGS technology.
Turning art into science.
So what is GGS?
Geopressured Geothermal System (GGS)
Unlike others, we’ve redefined modern geothermal by ingeniously harnessing both heat and pressure. As the sole innovators in this field, we’re doubling energy output and advancing the future of sustainable power.
This is the problem.
Geothermal energy is a clean, renewable, and baseload source of power, but it is mostly limited to volcanic regions or places with deep drilling to harvest heat. Replacing fossil fuels with intermittent renewables also creates challenges for grid stability and environmental impact.
Today, most of the geothermal energy is harvested where hot steam approaches Earth’s surface
near a volcano. Because this is geologically limited, geothermal energy accounts for less than 1%
of the global utility-scale electricity generation.
However, geothermal energy is everywhere under our feet and provides many benefits:
- Renewable
- Baseload (24/7 electricity)
- Not dependent on weather patterns
- Practically limitless energy
- Emissions free
Currently, coal and gas peaking plants are being replaced with cleaner energy sources, but this leaves behind:
- Baseload (24/7 electricity)
- Load-following
- Inertia
And replacing them with:
- Intermittent energy
- Non load-following
- No inertia
- Mining of heavy metals
This is the solution.
Sage Geosystems™ is a game-changing company that makes geothermal energy available and affordable everywhere by not only harvesting heat but also pressure in a well. We use proven oilfield technology, which helps us cut costs. We can provide geothermal power or energy storage that is reliable, flexible, and sustainable.
Sage Geosystems™ is a transformative geothermal development company working to optimize both the well(s) and power plant to make geothermal accessible and affordable everywhere.
- Targeting lower temperatures (100 to 250°C) at depths of 3 to 6 km around the world
- Using off-the-shelf oilfield equipment and technology that is field proven
- Maximizing the power we can generate while minimizing the cost using our proprietary geothermal modeling tool called GeoTwin™
- Proven field delivery of a single well EGS (Enhanced Geothermal System) design for hot dry rock with our proprietary downward-oriented fracturing technology called HeatRoot™
- Demonstration of our proprietary supercritical CO2 turbine, which will double the amount of electricity that can be created from the geothermal heat
Sage can offer all of these either as a geothermal generation energy source or an energy storage source to be paired with solar or wind:
- Baseload (24/7) electricity
- Load-following
- Inertia
- No mining of heavy metals
- Can be behind the meter

Industries We Target
Most utility companies have goals to increase their renewable power generation while maintaining significant baseload capacities to manage solar and wind intermittency as well as peak demands.
We are working with the U.S. Air Force to perform a feasibility study to install a 3 MW geothermal plant at the Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston, Texas. The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is interested in moving to geothermal energy across all military services once the technology proves viable.
We see other critical infrastructure besides the military such as data centers, hospitals, universities as a huge market potential for geothermal.
